Guitar Solo & Travelling

Over six months, Jean-Noël cycled across Asia with his guitar—three months with his partner through Laos, Vietnam, and Japan, followed by three months alone across China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan via the Pamir Highway. On the road, he composed 13 original solo guitar pieces and filmed music clips along the way.

The project aims to create a total of around 24 solo guitar compositions, serving as a soundtrack to weekly vlogging videos documenting the journey. Four additional pieces have already been composed back home in Switzerland, with 6-7 more still to complete the cycle.

L'emporte-Pièce

L'emporte-pièce is a French novel. Somewhere between a dystopian tale and existentialist surrealism, it imaginatively explores the origins of musical notes (do, re, mi, ...) and the anthem of Saint John the Baptist.

Teaching & Workshops

Jean-Noël offers private lessons in Basel for electric bass, guitar, piano (beginners), as well as music theory and composition. He holds a Master’s degree in pedagogy from the Jazz Campus Basel and brings extensive teaching experience in both music and circus.
He has taught music at the School of Rock and Musikunterricht Basel and has also worked extensively with children in circus education, including Kinderzirkus Robinson in Zürich and Zirkus Cirque in Rodersdorf. Drawing on his circus school background, he has developed engaging music and circus workshops that combine creativity, movement, and musical exploration.

Environmentally Responsible

In addition to his artistic projects, Jean-Noël works part-time as a renewable energy engineer for the energy cooperative ADEV in Liestal.
